<p><em>This study explores the semiotic representation of the Ottoman Caliphate as portrayed through the figure of Murad I in the first volume of The Chronicles of Ghazi: The Rise of Ottomans by Felix Siauw. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach and Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic analysis, the research examines both visual and narrative signs that construct meanings related to leadership, jihad, and Islamic values associated with Murad I during the formative period of the Ottoman Caliphate. The findings reveal that Murad I is depicted not merely as a military commander, but also as a spiritual leader and a symbol of civilizational transformation. Visual elements such as robes, weapons, and facial expressions in the illustrations function as representamen, signifying the identity of a Muslim warrior and embodying the ghazi spirit (a fighter in the path of God). The objects of these signs point toward values of struggle, courage, and the legitimacy of power in both religious and political dimensions. The interpretants generated from these signs shape the readers’ perception of Murad I as an ideal model of Islamic leadership. Consequently, the visual and verbal narratives in this work serve a dual function—as an educational tool and as an ideological medium to reinforce the historical identity of Islam, particularly within the context of the caliphate. <p><em>The purpose of this research is to study the photos of Mie Gacoan products displayed on the Instagram social media platform. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and visual content analysis, this research explores how the photography composition principles used by the Mie Gacoan brand build an attractive aesthetic on the online platform, Instagram. Food photos were collected from the official Mie Gacoan account. The findings indicate that the food photos of Mie Gacoan products apply photographic composition but are not yet optimal. This study is expected to contribute to MSME practitioners in terms of visual branding of food products on social media.</em></p>Ahmad AlberdWulandari

<p><em>In the current era of globalization, advances in information technology are developing rapidly in every company, one of which is in the health sector. The ability to provide information and services quickly, precisely, and accurately to consumers is an important requirement to achieve the satisfaction of a company. In a company, a Company profile is needed because it has a function as a medium of communication and delivery of information about the company to related parties, both internal and external to the company. Company profile is an image of the professionalism of a company that can be used as an effective marketing tool because there are visual elements in the form of images and text. The design and layout elements that make the Company profile design less attractive will cause distrust and disinterest of consumers in a company. The research method used in this writing is qualitative method, the data used is collected by observation, in-depth interview, and literature study. The purpose of designing this Final Work is to design a visual Company Profile book that represents the corporate identity of PT Karunia Indamed Mandiri as a medium of corporate information and creates consumer trust and interest in a company.</em></p>Muhammad Fatah HidayatIda Susanti

<p><em>Lapu-lapu was the chief of Mactan Island, a small island east of Cebu, Philippines. He was known as a devout and courageous Muslim. In 1521, a Spanish explorer named Ferdinand Magellan arrived in the Philippines. His mission was to introduce Catholicism and conquer Mactan Island. <p><em>The purpose of this study is to research and describe the moral message contained in the "tri-indie+" advertisement. The method used in this study is to use a descriptive qualitative research method with Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis theory. This research uses Roland Barthes' semiotic theory that language is a complex system of signs, where each word or symbol represents a certain concept or meaning. Then divide the signs based on markers, denotations and connotations. The focus of this research is to interpret the moral message contained in advertising.
