Conflict of Interest

RUSTIC: Jurnal Arsitektur is committed to ensuring transparency, objectivity, and fairness throughout the submission, peer-review, and publication processes. A conflict of interest arises when financial, professional, personal, institutional, or other relationships may influence, or may reasonably be perceived to influence, the judgment or decisions of authors, reviewers, or editors.

All authors are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that may be relevant to their submitted manuscript. Such conflicts may include, but are not limited to, financial relationships, employment, consultancy, research funding, professional collaborations, personal relationships, academic competition, or institutional affiliations that could influence the research, its interpretation, or its publication. Authors must also disclose the role of funding organizations or sponsors in the research design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, manuscript preparation, and decision to submit the work for publication, where applicable.

Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest before accepting a review invitation. Reviewers who have relationships or interests that could compromise their impartiality must decline the invitation or inform the editor so that appropriate arrangements can be made. Reviewers must not use confidential information obtained during peer review for personal, professional, or academic advantage.

Editors and editorial board members must disclose relevant conflicts of interest and must not participate in editorial decisions concerning manuscripts in which they have a competing interest. Such manuscripts will be assigned to an independent editor to ensure an impartial evaluation and maintain the integrity of the peer-review process.

All disclosures will be assessed by the editorial team to determine whether further action is necessary. Where appropriate, the journal may publish a conflict-of-interest statement alongside the article. If no conflicts of interest exist, authors should explicitly state: “The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest.”

Failure to disclose a relevant conflict of interest may result in further editorial investigation and appropriate action in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policies. The journal reserves the right to correct or retract a published article when an undisclosed conflict of interest materially compromises the integrity or reliability of the published work.
